Wisconsin Seamless Gutter Install

Gutters do a lot more than people think. They keep water away from your foundation. They protect your siding. They stop ice dams in winter. When gutters fail, water finds its way into your home.

We have been doing gutter work in the Midwest for over 60 years. We know how Wisconsin winters punish gutters. We know how Illinois rains overflow them. We know what holds up.

Why It Matters

Why Good Gutters Matter

01

Protect Your Foundation

Water that pours off your roof onto the ground around your home can crack your foundation. Gutters carry it away.

02

Save Your Siding

Water sheeting down your siding ruins paint and wood. Good gutters keep your siding dry.

03

Stop Ice Dams

Clogged gutters trap snow and ice. That ice backs up under your shingles. Then it drips into your home.

Why Gutters Matter More In The Midwest

Why Good Gutters Save Your Home

Gutters do quiet work. When they are doing their job, you do not notice them at all. When they fail, the damage shows up in places that cost real money to fix. A clogged or undersized gutter sends water sheeting down the side of your home, soaking the siding and pooling against the foundation. Over a few seasons, that pooling causes cracks, basement seepage, and rotted trim boards. Good gutter installation is one of the cheapest forms of home protection a Midwest homeowner can buy.

Winter makes gutters even more important in Wisconsin, Illinois, and Minnesota. Snow piles up on the roof, then warms during the day and refreezes at the eaves. That refreeze becomes an ice dam, which traps melting snow behind it and forces water under the shingles. Properly sized seamless gutters and clean downspouts give that meltwater a clear path away from the house. Without that path, you get leaks in the upstairs ceilings every February.

We install seamless gutters because they outperform the older sectional kind in every way that matters. Seamless gutters are cut to length on site, so the only joints are at the corners and the downspout outlets. Fewer joints means fewer leaks. We also size the gutters to your roof. A big roof with steep pitch sheds a lot of water at once and needs a six inch gutter to keep up. Smaller homes do fine with five inch gutters. Gutter guards are a smart add for homes with mature trees nearby. They are not always worth it on homes without trees.

Common Questions

Things Homeowners Ask About Gutters

What size gutters do I need?

Most homes do well with five inch K style gutters. Larger homes or homes with steep roofs often need six inch gutters to handle the volume of water. We measure your roof and recommend the right size during the free estimate.

Are gutter guards worth it?

It depends on your trees. If you have a lot of mature trees overhanging the roof, gutter guards save you a lot of cleaning and ladder work. If your home is in a newer subdivision with few trees, guards are usually not worth the extra cost.

How often should gutters be cleaned?

Twice a year for most Midwest homes. Once in late spring after the seeds and blossoms drop, and once in late fall after the leaves come down. Homes with heavy tree cover may need a third cleaning. Gutter guards reduce this to once a year or less.

What gauge aluminum do you use?

We use heavier aluminum than the bargain installers. Thicker metal holds up better to ice loads and ladder dings. We also use hidden hangers spaced closer than code requires for extra strength.

Can you match my home's color?

Yes. Seamless gutters come in dozens of factory baked colors. We bring color samples to the estimate so you can match your trim or pick a contrast color. The factory finish lasts much longer than painted gutters.

How long do seamless gutters last?

A quality seamless aluminum gutter install lasts 20 to 30 years in the Midwest. The finish may fade a bit toward the end. Sectional gutters with seams usually fail in half that time because the seams open up.
