Sun and ice break vinyl over time. We swap whole sections or whole walls.
Wood needs paint every 5 to 7 years. When you stop, water gets in. We replace with vinyl or fiber cement.

A new color and style can transform your home. We help you pick what works.
One crew. One project. One bill. Less mess.
Doing both at once saves real money. You only pay for one dumpster rental. You only pay for one round of scaffolding. The crew is already on site, so labor goes further.
Many of our customers do both at once. Especially after a hail storm where both got damaged. We work with your insurance company so the claim covers what it should.

Siding has one main job. It keeps the weather out. In Wisconsin, Illinois, and Minnesota, that is a hard job. Spring brings driving rain. Summer brings UV that fades and dries out cheap vinyl. Fall brings hail. Winter brings freeze and thaw cycles that work loose every joint that was not sealed properly. Siding installation in the Midwest is not just about how the home looks. It is about protecting the structure underneath for the next 30 years.
Three siding types make up most of what we install. Vinyl is the most popular pick. It looks good, holds color well, and runs about half the cost of fiber cement. Modern vinyl is much tougher than the brittle stuff from 20 years ago. Fiber cement is the step up. It looks like real wood, resists fire and pests, and holds paint for 15 years or more. James Hardie is the premium fiber cement brand. It carries a 30 year warranty and is engineered for the freeze and thaw cycles you see across the Midwest.
UV damage is the slow killer. Sun on south and west facing walls bleaches color out of cheap vinyl in five years. Better grade vinyl and fiber cement hold up much longer because the color goes deeper into the material. Freeze and thaw cycles are the fast killer. Water gets behind a poorly installed panel, freezes overnight, and pries the panel loose. Good siding installation seals those entry points so winter cannot get a foothold. We have completed more than 10,000 siding projects across the region, and the failures we see almost always trace back to bad installation, not bad material.
Doing siding and roof together saves money. One crew, one setup, one dumpster, one disruption to your daily life. Get a free estimate and we will quote both.
Most homes finish in three to five days for vinyl. Fiber cement and James Hardie take a bit longer because each board is heavier and gets nailed individually. Larger or more complex homes can run a week or more. We give you a clear schedule before we start.
James Hardie offers a 30 year non prorated warranty on their planks. The factory baked color finish carries a 15 year warranty. Our own Lifetime Workmanship Warranty covers the install. That stack of warranties is one reason James Hardie is the premium pick.
Yes. We install siding year round across Wisconsin, Illinois, and Minnesota. Vinyl gets brittle in extreme cold, so we time those projects carefully. Fiber cement and James Hardie install fine in cold weather. Heavy snow days are the only real holdup.
Almost always, yes. Going over old siding can hide rot, trap moisture, and add weight the structure was not built for. We tear off the old siding, inspect the sheathing, fix any soft spots, and add house wrap before the new siding goes on.
Cost depends on the size of your home, the siding you pick, and what we find under the old siding. Vinyl runs less than fiber cement. Fiber cement runs less than James Hardie. We come out for free, measure the home, and give you a written estimate with no pressure.
It can. New siding paired with a layer of foam board or house wrap improves your home's insulation envelope. Most homeowners see a small drop in heating and cooling bills. The bigger savings come from sealing air leaks around windows and trim while the siding is off.
